As we start to approach the end of the year we are sharing an early look at venue merchandise trends this year and some of the most notable insights by venue capacity, market, and go into one of the more commonly asked questions, have their been fewer shows in 2024? And if so, is it impacting all venue capacities or is it specific types of tours? Let's get into it!

Average $/Head In 2024

We often share the industry average $/head for artists, and want to update the 2024 average for venues broken down by capacity. Year to date, the average $/head ranges from $8.93 to $15.80 with the 10-15K grouping actually being the highest average (and 20K+ right behind).

In comparing to last year, the most notable difference is 1.5-5K capacity grouping dipping below last year's averages by 13% and 19%, respectively. This dip in $/head seems to be primarily coming from shows in late June through July. Excluding that 6 week timeframe they would be at 4% and 1%, respectively. When looking at the other capacity groupings excluding that 6 weeks, they have minimal changes.
