atVenu was born the way many great ideas are — on the road, in the chaos, with a van full of merch and a massive headache.
Our co-founder Ben spent over a decade in the trenches of live music: managing bands, tour managing, selling merch, and crisscrossing the country. He lived the pain — broken inventory, messy settlements, lost revenue. Nothing out there was built for the reality of touring. He had a vision for something better.
Enter Derek — a seasoned tech entrepreneur with a love for live music and the experience to bring that vision to life. It clicked fast. And when James, our third co-founder and now CTO, jumped in the van in June 2011, things got real.
By June 2012, atVenu was officially born.
And by January 2013, we were on tour with our first customer: Ed Sheeran.
We know the pain. We lived it. So we built the solution.
Today, atVenu is the leading live event commerce platform — purpose-built to handle the complexity, fast-paced, and unpredictability of live events. We solved for transient inventory, fan convenience, sponsor involvement, flexible point of sale, and easy financial settlement. Now, we serve over 25,000 artists and power over 125,000 events each year, from concert tours and music festivals to sporting events and beyond. We process more than $2 billion in payments yearly, and we’re just getting started.
We hire people who get it — who’ve lived the chaos of live events, who know the pressure of a 10-minute setup window, and who understand that “one size fits all” doesn’t apply when it comes to live events.
Our team is stacked with the best in their field — smart, curious, experienced, and driven to build things that actually work in the real world. We don’t just look for talent; we look for people who care. Who want to solve big problems, move fast, and leave things better than they found them.
We take our time building the right team — because when the fit is right, everything clicks. The work gets sharper, the product gets better, and the culture becomes something you actually want to be part of. We’ve got each other’s backs, and we’re all here to raise the bar.
That’s the atVenu way.
